Sagamore Springs

SCORE: 7.3

Sagamore Springs Video Review Here

Value: 6.8

Condition: 7.5

Atmosphere: 7.6

Overview:

Minutes off I-95 in Lynnfield, this is a staple for north shore residents but had a ton of mixed reviews in the comments. Some praising the consistency of the course, others saying "slowest round in America", so we put it all to the test.

Condition:

Didn't have the highest expectations of the conditions strictly because of how much play this course gets, and we played on the only day it didn't rain the entire month of May. The greens were solid but tee boxes could use love. There's a bunch of switchback holes on the back 9 qualifying as helmet golf. Layout has some gettable holes and was relatively straightforward, no real signature holes. My favorite is the Par 3 9th hole - 200+ yards over water to an elevated, two tiered green. Par is a great score here.

Value:

$90 to play 18 with a cart

I can see back ups happening here but it took us approximately 4 hours and 33 minutes on a Saturday in May... I'm thrilled with that. Set your expectations accordingly people.

Atmosphere:

Grill fired up outside the pro shop was a perfect to grab a burger for the turn. Not a bad spot for a beer and there were drink carts making the rounds. They had a starter but never saw a ranger move people along.
