The best golf tradition that I have in my life currently, is Owl's Nest. Last year was the first year we expanded to 16 guys for the trek, but this thing dates back to us all the way in 2017, as just four of us traveled to a course in New Hampshire for a stay and play deal of just about $400, which included 2 nights at a new build, and unlimited golf for 3 days. Incredible.

Flash forward 9 years and this place has built an incredible atmosphere that other resorts try to create. A restaurant, pizza place, bar, convenience store, pickleball courts, water features, wedding venues, the list goes on and on. The key is the pizza place and the adirondack chairs that await you on 18. A simple pleasure that gives so many a fun post round hang that allows yelling, booing, and cheering for your friends as you finish.

As far as the course, it's a scenic mountainous course that has a few drop holes and high rise holes, but overall only 1-2 holes that I think could use a redesign. The front 9 is more of a normal elevation change course, while the back features a few more giant changes over the course of your 2-2.5 hours. Yes, the play can run long here. Over the years more and more people at the course have realized what you have, and it seems to get slow at times.

The marquee holes are #2, #3, #10, #14, #18. All unique, great scenery and mix of elevation change. Although the cost has gone up here, I find it well within it's right to keep it's scores in the 9s.
