SCORE: 5.8
Olde Salem Greens Video Review Here
Value: 6.5
Salem has the value down to a science, from the handmade and inexpensive breakfast sandwiches on deck in the weekend morning, to the cost of the around it's super affordable. However, for what you get is a golf course that can run extremely long time wise (when I was here on a Sunday morning 9 holes ran over 2 hours and 45 minutes), and can also be in a bit of trouble for conditions. Generally low cost would provide a high score, but unless you are truly a beginner golfer or someone with a lot of patience, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Condition: 5.3
The layout and conditions aren't anything to write home about. Blind shots and extremely straightforward holes provide a relatively ho-hum layout that leads to the backups with overcrowding of the coruse.
Atmosphere: 5.5
It was an extremely old crowd when I was here which is generally fine, but it was more of the "watch where you're going" crowd than the welcoming type. I did play with a kind father and son pairing, and they really didn't know how to golf/lacked awareness for the round. Again, patience or true beginners would be fine over here, but a more experienced golfer has to realize that this is going to be a round that is more for practice.
